Partners in Energy & Transportation House
For three years Flint Hills Resources has led the push for an Energy House completely sponsored by industries linked to energy - production, refinement, distribution, etc. While we haven't had a home completely sponsored yet, each year we get a little closer. We are very grateful to Flint Hills and Conoco Phillips for the support they have given that made the 2004 North Pole house (along with major contributions from Petro Star), the 2005 Miller House, and the 2006 Welty house possible.
The 2006 Welty Family Energy House is sponsored By: Flint Hills Resources, Dennis & Mary Wise, Alaska Airlines, Conoco Phillips, Holland America Line, Lanoga Corporation and Totem Ocean Trailer Express.
Partners in Lending House
In 2005 many lenders came alongside the Realtors to help sponsor the 2005 "Partners in Real Estate House" so it seemed a natural fit that local lenders could sponsor a Habitat house (with help from the Realtors!) Each year Mt. McKinley Bank and Wells Fargo Housing Foundation are generous donors to our affiliate. Mt. McKinley services all our homeowners mortgages - a huge help plus gave a generous donation of $5,000 to the Lenders House. Wells Fargo foundation provides a $2,500 per workday grant. Wells Fargo employees did four workdays for a generous grant of $10,000 for the Lenders House.
The 2006 Smith Family Lenders House is sponsored By: Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, Alaska USA Mortgage Company, Einevoll, First National Bank of Anchorage, Greater Fairbanks Board of Realtors, Meyers Real Estate, Mt. McKinley Bank, Northrim Bank, Omni Properties, Pruhs Real Estate, Wells Fargo Bank and Wells Fargo Housing Foundation.
Partners in Building House
Habitat’s construction goal for 2006 was to build the Energy and Lenders Houses but that all changed when the City of North Pole donated two lots to Habitat and a local builder came forward willing to oversee the construction. Dan and Sara Himebauch, previous owners of Exclusive Landscaping, wanted to sponsor this third Habitat home in North Pole if Dave Dillard of 3-2-1 Construction would oversee the construction. Others jumped on board to help – Spenard Builders Supply held a golf tournament and the Interior Alaska Builders Association held two yard sales. Dave talked to other builders and business owners and got them involved donating labor or materials. Many local contractors and building materials suppliers contributed to the project - our very first "Builders House".
The 2006 Franklin Family Builders House was sponsored By: 3-2-1 Construction, Dave Dillard Dan & Sara Himebauch, Interior Alaska Builders Association and the City of North Pole.
We are so fortunate! We at Habitat, though the mission and purpose of our organization, have managed to gain the support of many community groups who have volunteered their time, raised funds for Habitat, or assisted us and the families we serve. We would not be the organization we are today, or accomplished the feats we have, without the support of the Fairbanks / North Pole Communities. To all of you...we thank you so very much.
If your group or organization would like to assist Habitat in our mission, please contact our office at 452-1685.
